Animals in need of a new home

This page will be updated frequently, so come back often and see if you can help some animal to find a new home.

This is urgent for re-homing. I attach a picture of Theo. He is a fun loving dog, great with other dogs as he enjoys their company. He is great with adults but not friendly towards children. He does not like to be petted by children and will ignore them otherwise. It is urgent for re-homing as I have young children and school holidays coming up. If you feel he can be re-homed to an adult only household or call me 085 143 6664.

Theo has never been treated badly in our home if anything he has had a great time being walked by both myself and husband twice daily. My children have always been good to him. We are really attached to him but I cannot keep him as he is not suitable to a child friendly home.

Adopting an animal

To find a pet that may suit, could you please answer the following questions and return to me by email at tiggertrust49@hotmail.com. Please include any other information which you may consider useful.

  • What are you looking for?
  • What region are you in?
  • Do you have something very specific in mind?
  • Do you have children (young/older),
  • Do you have an enclosed secure garden,
  • Do you have or have you had animals before,
  • Do you have animals already, etc. I'll keep your name on file and contact you when I hear about a matching home needed.

When you have decided that you would like to take responsibility of an animal that has previously been in trust with the Tigger Trust an adoption form is given to you whereby you will agree to take care of your new pet, vaccinate it and have neutered/spayed at the appropriate time and if required take to your vet for any medical treatment.

You can take an animal for a month's trial if you are worried it has a problem and may not be brought under control but in most cases a new owner is willing to keep the animal regardless of any disability.

If, however, after a month you are still not happy or the disability seems to be worse, then the Trust will re-home the animal for you.

We would like to make people aware that animal charities are funded and at some stage funding could be very minimum and so there may be a time that you are asked to hold the animal until a new home is found or funding is increased.

Please be certain if you take an animal that you are aware that sometimes it can take a long time to adjust to their new environment but also the animal itself may not actually be happy in your environment for whatever reason. In most cases all new homes are very successful.

Fostering an animal

We constantly need help with fostering animals.

Can you offer to keep some of our rescued or unwanted animals in your home until a suitable new owner is found? Tigger Trust re-homes animals reasonably quickly and no animal that has been in our care has had to wait more than a few months for a new home.

If you are unable to foster would you like to give a donation or take part in the fundraising efforts to help fund the upkeep of taking care of these animals.

Any support is hugely appreciated and with your help we can control the animal population.

Lea
